Dr. Christopher s Sinus & Lung Formula Extract is a synergic herbal blend designed to facilitate the pathological manifestations of respiratory tract diseases. The extract promotes liquefaction and sputum production, protects mucous membranes of the respiratory tract, reduces inflammation, and prevents infections.

Sinus & Lung Formula consists of the plants that for centuries have been used for the recovery of the respiratory system. Besides the treatment of respiratory diseases, such herbal ingredients as horseradish root, brigham tea herb, and cayenne pepper are used in complex drugs to remove heavy metal salts from the body.

Horseradish root contains volatile oils, saponins, vitamins C, B-I, B2, flavonoids, thioglycosides, and minerals - calcium, potassium, and phosphorus. The root is known to have expectorant, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and analgesic properties. Many American Indian tribes used horseradish (Armoracia rusticana) as a tonic, diuretic, and expectorant remedy, which helped to improve digestion. Herbalists recommend the plant for sinusitis, frontal sinusitis, influenza, rheumatism, allergies, scurvy, rickets, and pneumonia. The active substances in horseradish have the ability to inhibit the growth of microorganisms. Scientific research shows that horseradish root contains a substance, which actually has the properties of antibiotics. In the United States, the drugs containing horseradish are recommended for people suffering from sinusitis and various nasal dysfunctions.

Brigham tea herb is known as an effective antitussive since ancient Greece and in Ayurvedic medicine. In the days of the American Civil War, the Confederate Army used the herb to treat respiratory diseases. Historically, brigham tea herb has been used in the treatment of such diseases as bronchitis, asthma, flu, and even tuberculosis and whooping cough (due to its expectorant action, which thins the mucus and removes the sputum).

The herb has also been used as a mild diuretic. It contains from 2 to 3% of plant slime (polysaccharides, which absorb water), providing a softening effect. Due to the presence of saponins, Brigham tea has expectorant properties. German scientists recommend the herb for use during inflammation of the upper respiratory tract. The Brigham tea extract is believed to be an effective antiviral agent against influenza viruses of type A2 and B and is recommended as a good remedy against allergies of different origins.

Cayenne pepper has long been used for various respiratory disorders and diseases. It has been found effective for colds, coughs, ulcers of the mucous membranes in the mouth, etc. In folk medicine, cayenne pepper has also been used for gastrointestinal disorders, as a choleretic agent, in diabetes, and cellulitis (inflammation of the subcutaneous connective tissue). The cayenne extract has a pronounced antibacterial activity against some bacteria. It also helps to lower cholesterol and normalize carbohydrate metabolism in diabetes mellitus.

The combination of properties of all these medicinal plants creates a very useful, well-balanced herbal supplement that helps to normalize the functioning of the respiratory system and ease the symptoms of respiratory diseases.
As a dietary supplement take 1 teaspoon in a cup of hot water up to every half hour or as directed by your health care professional.
